Wrap Dress: Simplicity 9224
So in love with my new Simplicity 9224 wrap dress in this cotton-linen blend fabric. I was anticipating that it would take me at least a couple days to finish this project but I ended up putting it all together in a day! It was such a quick and fun make, which I didn’t realize at first how much I was craving for.
I did not make any modifications to the pattern aside from my routine petite size adjustment as well as waist to hip size grading. The front neckline turned out to be slightly lower on me, but I like the spicy look of it! I found the design to be so chic and comfortable and I couldn’t think of any way that I wanted to hack the dress (not typical of me, I know!). If you are a beginner sewer, you will not only enjoy making this dress, but also learn a couple good techniques along the way as well (e.g., applying facings, mitered corners, cuffs, etc). Additionally, Mimi G x Simplicity patterns always come with YouTube Sew Alongs, which as a visual learner, speed things up for me!
As a bonus, I now have the perfect wrap dress to match these blue Guess heels! Aren’t they so cute together?
A wise woman once said: “you can never have enough wrap dresses”…And didn’t she spoke the truth!!
(I am that wise woman!!)
Make sure to check out the other two beautiful wrap dresses that I have made: vogue 8379 and McCall’s 7747!
Overall, I highly recommend the Mimi G Simplicity 9224 pattern to anyone who is looking for a quick fun project to sew and loves a chic staple wrap dress in her wardrobe. I know mine is going to be on high rotation this summer!
Cheers darlings,
Ava
